Au Naturel…My Favorite Natural Beauty Product!

I recently switched to Native aluminum free and paraben free deodorant, and I love it! With pretty much everything in my life, I am a person who loves to try-and-try-again until I get it just right, even when it comes to beauty products. Once I get it right, I am a loyalist. I recently "got it right" with Native Deodorant, a natural deodorant free of parabens, talc, sulfates, and aluminum.

Before now, I have never gotten it exactly right with my deodorant. Admittedly, I'm choosy. My list of criteria for the perfect product isn't even that extensive. Still, I struggled to find a deodorant that I loved. In fact, I used a men's deodorant even though I didn't love the masculine scent.

As a teacher, I never want sweaty, stained armpits. As a runner, I want to feel confident that my deodorant will endure the humid climate I live in and last throughout a workout. Being a person with an extra sensitive sense of smell, I want a deodorant that can do all of the above without leaving me smelling like I'm wearing men's cologne. Most importantly, I want a product free of toxins. I know some diseases have been linked to deodorants, so I want a safe product as well.

About 6 months ago, Sandi and I were given samples of Native Deodorant. I already knew the benefits of using a natural deodorant, so I was anxious to give it a try. My sample scent was Lavender Rose. Personally, I do not like anything that has a rose scent, so my initial experience with the product wasn't wholly gratifying. Sandi, however, received for her sample scent Cucumber Mint, and she raved about her experience. Because she loved the deodorant so much, I decided to order Native's Most Popular scent most popular scent--Coconut Vanilla.

Oh. My. Goodness! Coconut Vanilla scent is heavenly! Not only did it keep me smelling and feeling fresh during my workouts, but it also withstood the humidity. I have never loved a deodorant's smell as much as I love the Coconut Vanilla! Though I loved the scent, I still wasn't completely sold on this product. My body took about 2-3 weeks to adjust to a natural deodorant. During that time, I wasn't sure the deodorant would keep me feeling dry. I went on the Native Deodorant website and read that some others had experienced an adjustment period, too. I found comfort in seeing the thousands of positive reviews. After reading that Native Deodorant is cruelty-free and safe, I knew I found the product for me!

This deodorant is truly the closest you will find to a traditional deodorant. I love the fresh scent of Coconut Vanilla more than any other brand I have ever used. Once I discovered that they have Free Shipping and Free Returns, I wanted to try other fragrances as well (they also sell unscented, but I prefer a deodorant with a scent). Since then, I have fallen in love with their new limited edition fall scent Pumpkin Spice Latte. Other seasonal favorites include Lilac & White Tea, Orange & Honeysuckle, and Lemon Zest & Pomegranate. You cannot go wrong with any one of these seasonal scents. The travel sample pack gives you the ability to try multiple scents until you find your favorite. That's good stuff!

I never knew I could feel so passionately about a product. Since I always share my favorite things, I had to let you all know about Native Deodorant. Sandi and I both love and use this brand, and we now have a code that never expires: SPOILEDHOME. This code will get you a free trial size with any purchase. The code THESPOILEDHOME gets you 10% off your online purchase! If you already use Native, let us know your favorite scent, and if you don't, give it a try. Once you make the switch, I promise you will thank us.

Hi guys!! 🙋🏼‍♀️ I’m curious if you had any trouble with the baking soda in it? I tried making deodorant before and have tried other “natural” brands as well and my armpits broke out soooook bad from the making soda!! Just curious. Thanks. Love your blog!! 🙌🏼😃

      Kylie,

Hi! Neither of us experienced any type of problem as you mentioned. When I shared before, I do recall that someone had a reaction so had to switch to the sensitive skin version of the deodorant. There are over 6k reviews on their website, so surely someone has addressed your issue. Sorry I cannot be more helpful.

I finally picked this up this weekend to give it a try – so far so good. A bit pricey but I’ll see in about a month’s time if it’s worth it. Thanks for the suggestion.
