As the holidays are fast approaching, I am getting my house guest ready. I love everything about the holidays, but getting to spend extra time with my family is the best part. During Thanksgiving and Christmas, my parents, sister and her family, always stay a few days with us. How many of you are like me and tend to put off little projects until you know you are having company? I do it all the time! Today, I’m showing you how I got my house guest ready without spending a lot.

I have been looking for a round coffee table to put in Libby’s room for awhile, but they are not cheap! My Dad likes to kick his feet up and watch tv in here, when us girls are in the living room watching a chick flick he doesn’t want to see. You will not believe the price of this one and the quality! For only $72, I couldn’t pass it up. It’s so cute, I even tried it out in my living room. If it wasn’t for the gold base matching the wallpaper in the bedroom, I would have swapped coffee tables for a bit.
The guest bathroom is something I put off for a long time. Because I didn’t like certain things about this bathroom, I just chose to close the door instead of working with what I had…until now. I started with painting my tile (you can read more about that here). Our vanity had the weirdest looking pulls on them that I never liked. I found this set of 10 for only $20 and it took just a few minutes to swap them all out. I also replaced our old, rusty shower tension rod with a matte black one and the hand towel holder with this new one. One of my favorite items is this black and snakeskin towel set. It came with bath towels, hand towels and face towels.
Below is the BEFORE picture of my bathroom.
Here is the AFTER picture.
Try walking through your house and looking for the little things that you don’t like that would be simple to replace and you’ll be amazed by the difference it will make. Whether it’s changing a shower curtain, a mirror, or even something as simple as a cracked light switch cover (I was guilty of this). It can make a big impact and motivate you to do more.

My next item is this round end table. For only $16, it was a steal! I wanted it for my front porch, to go next to my swing. It was so cute and the perfect size; I also tried it next to my couch and look how great it looks there also. I even considered using the table in the guest bathroom, next to the tub, with a couple of towels rolled up on top.
Can you believe I bought this table from a garage sale for $10! I knew I wanted white metal chairs and you would not believe the selection Walmart.com has to offer or the prices. Not just on chairs, but on everything.

Roxanne,
Thank you so much for your sweet comments. We need to always look hot for our hubbies (that’s what I tell mine– if he wants a smoking hot wife, I need to buy cute clothes LOL).

Love. Love this post. And love the warm welcome decor you provide to your guests. These are such great ideas. I do have a question about the black snakeskin booties in the first picture. Can you please link them or tell where did you buy them? Thanks!!! Xoxo
