How to give your home a quick affordable refresh

You all know by now, Shalia and I have a slight pillow and rug addiction. Swapping out throw pillows and rugs can change the look and feel of any room. Last month, Walmart came out with a new home line called MoDRN; this line is exclusive to Walmart, and I couldn’t wait to see all of their new stuff! The first items I started shopping were, you guessed it, pillows and rugs. The MoDRN line has a little of everything, including furniture, accessories, lighting, even outdoor furniture (click here to check it all out).

I first found these gorgeous velvet pink and gold pillows, perfect for Libby’s room. I was so impressed with the quality and price of them. The inserts are the good ones, perfect for chopping in the middle as seen below.

They also look cute on this settee. You’ll have to look past the missing trim; there is always a project at our house!

When I received the pillows in the mail, I immediately called Shalia and told her how happy I was with my purchase. She then ordered pillows for Cale’s room. Shalia bought the MoDRN industrial throw pillows and the Need More Weekends pillow.

I know I do not need another rug, but this MoDRN triangles area rug was too good to pass up. It’s soft, great quality and affordable.

I have been impressed with all of my purchases from Walmart. In January, I bought new dining chairs (you can see them here) from Walmart and we have been very happy with them.

Most items are eligible for free shipping when you spend $35 or more and free returns. Also, with Walmart’s third party selling online, you can get pretty much anything you need. Be sure to check out the new MoDRN line, you won’t be disappointed.

Scroll and shop some of my favorites.

Sandi – I’m sure you’ve said it before, but what color paint is on the majority of your walls (and trim color, too) ? I have similar floors and I’m about to repaint my entire house and want a few more sample colors to look at. Thanks in advance!

      Hi Courtney,

My wall color is Sherwin Williams Eider White throughout most of my house. I also used SW Snowbound in my entry, bedroom and the kids’ bathroom. My trim color is SW true white.

Thank you! I ended up going with Accessible Beige lightened 50%, and Snowbound for my trim and doors. Looks like I wasn’t too far off from you.

Thanks for the reminder. I have noticed that Wal Mart has really stepped up their online offerings.
