What led to this dining room update?
I honestly don't have to have a reason to redecorate, but I like to give my husband lame excuses when I get new decor. If you saw my garage and closets of old decor I'm not willing to part with because sunflowers may come back in style, you would totally understand why I come up with stuff like "summer updates" as an excuse.
What is the design focus?
There is always that one item that starts the domino effect, or it does for me anyway. This time, it was the sliding barn door. I received my custom barn door from rustica hardware and it is even more amazing in person. It took my husband, aka Rob Villa, (he likes it when I call him this and I just go with it) about 4 hours to hang. This was the first barn door he has ever installed. From there, I changed out art, table decor, added in palm leafs and layered my rugs.
What style is this?
I have been asked many times what my style is, and I still haven't figured it out. I do like a simple, clean look, and my style is always evolving. So, for now, my dining room summer update consists of a layered rug, a palm print, and new table decor.
Where is the beautiful dining table and chairs from?
Hi, Beth,
The dining table is from Urban Farmhouse Designs in Oklahoma City where Sandi and I do design work. The tufted chairs are from there as well. The slipcovered chairs are from Pottery Barn, and the other chairs shown are chairs I ordered from Joss and Main. Most chairs are linked through the shop tab on our page.
Hi Beth…this room is wonderful…I love the lighting fixture…where did you purchase this? thanks karen
Hi, Karen,
I purchased the fixture a little over three years ago off Ebay.
